Temporary agency work is a flexible form of employment where workers are hired by an intermediary company (temporary agency) and then work for another company, the hirer. This means that:

  • The employment contract is concluded with the employee by the company that hires him/her out.
  • The place of work is with the company that is borrowing the money.
  • The rental company takes care of payroll and administration.

Temporary agency work: the employee remains in the employ of the company providing the temporary agency but works for another company

Placement: the placement company only helps with recruitment, but the employee is immediately hired by the hiring company.

In short, in the case of temporary agency work, the worker remains an employee of the company that hired him/her, while in the case of intermediation, he/she is directly employed by the partner company.

The rental fee depends on:

Rental companies usually work on a monthly basis, which includes the employee's salary and administrative costs, as well as the service fee.

The process can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks, depending on the number of workers needed and their experience and skills.

Temporary work is regulated by the Labour Code (Act I of 2012).

  • Employees should not be at a disadvantage compared to direct employees
  • Maximum duration of the loan is 5 years, beyond which the employer must decide on permanent employment
  • The employee is entitled to the same benefits as direct employees (e.g. cafeteria, bonus)
  • Licensed HR service provider - only choose a company that is registered and currently operating as a temporary employment agency
  • Experience and references - look for a company with a proven track record
